Trump Dedicates His Putt On 16 To Unemployed Americans

Anchor: This is WBS News Radio, and it’s 8:13. At Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, President Trump dedicated his putt on hole 16 to the millions of Americans who are currently unemployed.

Trump supporter John Tersha lives just outside of Jacksonville. He’s one of the roughly 12 million Americans who will lose his unemployment benefits while Trump decides whether to sign the Covid-19 relief bill that was passed by both houses of Congress. Tersha says the putt dedication was just more proof of how much Trump cares about unemployed people and their struggles.

Tersha: It’s just another example of him going above and beyond for regular folks like me, people who’ve worked their whole lives and are now facing a difficult time because of Covid. He didn’t have to do that. He could have just putted and that was the end of it, but he took the time, and he dedicated it to us, and that means a lot. He’s done more for people like me than any president ever. I didn’t see Obama dedicating any putts to anybody.

Anchor: Instead of signing the Covid-19 relief and government funding package into law, Trump has said he will dedicate his drive on hole 18 to a functioning, fully funded government while letting the actual government shut down on Tuesday.
